Brent Roland, second-generation owner, made a decision years ago to stop running the company by his own strength and to surrender it to God. That decision changed how Roland Builder operates at every level. It changed how we treat clients, our team, and the hard conversations that come with every major construction project.

Roland Builder started the way most things worth keeping do: quietly, and built on hard work.
In September 1976, W. Lee Roland founded the company while working on trim for another contractor. He began with small remodeling jobs, doing the work himself, earning trust one project at a time. By the early 1980s, the reputation had grown enough to move into custom home building. Lee and his wife Rosalie built the company on Christian values and a simple standard: do the work right, treat people well, and stand behind what you build.
Over the following decades, Roland Builder became one of the most recognized custom home builders in Central Pennsylvania. Awards from the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Harrisburg. Recognition from Harrisburg Magazine. A reputation built not on marketing but on the experience of the families who hired Roland Builder and then told their neighbors.
In the last decade, Brent Roland — son of the founders — has led the company through its most consequential period. 2020 brought significant challenges that could have brought most businesses to an end. Brent chose a different path. He rebuilt the foundation, deliberately grew the team back, and placed God at the center of the company, a decision that has shaped everything since.
Today, Roland Builder is 50 years old and more intentional about its mission than at any point in its history. The goal is not simply to build more homes. It is to enrich more families — through the quality of the homes we build, through how we treat the people we serve, and through the faith that guides both.
That is the legacy Lee and Rosalie Roland started. It is what Brent Roland carries forward. And it is what every person on this team shows up to honor every day.

Roland Builder is a small but experienced team. That is a deliberate choice.
We have been larger, but recent changes have resulted in a smaller, more efficient team with the right structure and people in place. Brent believes this is much better: a smaller team of people who are genuinely aligned with the mission, deeply skilled at their work, and committed to the families they serve.
Most of the Roland Builder team values their faith in God. That matters not because it is a hiring requirement, but because it shapes the culture of how people work together and how they treat the clients they interact with every day. The values on the wall are the same in conversations, decisions, and follow-through.

Our design team works with you in person at our conference table, where your ideas come to life in real time on a built-in touchscreen monitor. Floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings are developed until what you see matches what you had in mind.
We provide a detailed, accurate proposal based on your actual design and selections. Pricing is based on what your project genuinely requires, not a low number designed to win the contract and grow through change orders. You know exactly what you are committing to before you sign anything.

Permits, selections, scheduling, and project setup are coordinated through Buildertrend before the first day of construction. Every detail is in place before we start, which is how we deliver projects on schedule instead of spending the first month catching up.
Our team and trusted trade partners build your home or remodel with consistent oversight and real communication. You have access to project progress through Buildertrend throughout, and our team communicates proactively rather than waiting for you to ask.
Before you take possession, your home is thoroughly inspected and refined. Your key turnover or project completion walkthrough is a celebration, not a checklist of items to fix later.
Our relationship does not end at move-in. We stand behind every project with a one-year warranty and the support that extends beyond it. Because the families we build for deserve to know we are still here.
